A place to start--saying NY would be too easy

Welcome to my blog!

The point of which is to document my experiences in Egypt and the Arab Emirates from April 30th to June 20th.
I want to read up on CSS and HTML and make it completely awesome, but as for now--well you can see...But really, look forward to pictures and possibly some video too...

So I've packed a lot and need to wrap it up. I really only want to bring one big suitecase plus my backpack with my laptop, but that would mean no sleeping bag. I feel like camping out in a desert might be worth the hassle.... =D

I realized how many things I had moving out of Davenport last week. It's ridiculous. I def want to be one who puts experience over things.

Story. So Friday, the day I left Boston, a woman on the T told me law school was interfering with her life.

We were standing near each other at Ruggles and I said 'hi' because she was dressed up and carrying a portfolio, as was I. I thought maybe she was graduating. It turned out she had graduated from Northeastern half a decade ago and was finishing law school at BC.

When she began school all those years ago she was set on going into intellectual law. Now she was graduating and though she didn't have other ideas in mind, dreading arguing over the nuances of law.

She had gotten so caught up in the details; the papers, the studying, the grit, that she lost touch with what she wanted. The big picture.

I'm leaving tomorrow morning but the last weeks, I've been so caught up in the details, in school and finals and co-op, that how awesome this is hasn't hit me.

My dad gave me this advice in the car on our way home from Boston. If you don't know my dad, the package of the advice might sound odd--but I can assure you, he means the best =D

So there's this couple and one night they have the most amazing sexual experience ever. The next night they're so excited anticipating and remembering what they did the night before that the sex sucks.

My goal for this trip is to be fully present and take things as they come.

This is a fitting post for the my last night before entering a conservative Islamic country....

If anyone's interested, here are links from an e-mail Prof Sullivan sent w/ some info about Egypt.
